Founded in 1982, the École de Jazz de Montreux was one of the first in French-speaking Switzerland, in a town the festival had already put on the world jazz map. Since 2002 one of the three components of the Conservatoire de Musique Montreux-Vevey-Riviera (CMVR), alongside the Montreux and Vevey conservatories, it now occupies its own building on the Rue de l’Église-Catholique.
